Tell us about your journey. Why advertising and technology ?

After moving to the US from Scotland, I knew I wanted to be in marketing but didn’t know if I wanted to be on the agency side or publisher side.  I landed an assistant role at Advertising Age at 25 and started from the ground up.  My goal was to learn the ropes and be promoted within 2 years.  Eighteen months later, I was promoted to a sales position at a sister publication and given the chance to grow an untapped territory.  It ultimately set the wheels in motion for my career in media sales.  After 10 years in print, I transitioned to digital and from there to programmatic.

In what ways has working at MBuy challenged you and enabled you to grow?

MBuy has challenged me to keep up on the ad tech landscape, including how our own Mediaocean and MBuy technologies play into it.  The fact that we are media agnostic at MBuy has allowed me to think outside the box and deliver creative strategies with the ultimate goal of driving performance against client KPIs.  It’s a constant learning curve that I thrive on!

What do you enjoy most about working at MBuy?

I love client interactions and developing strategy.  Also, the energy and enthusiasm that the L.A. Account Management team brings to the table in support of new business opportunities is a lot of fun!

What’s your favorite employee perk at MBuy?

The summer day out!

Coffee or tea?

Coffee (decaf, I’m pregnant).

Cats or dogs?

Dogs.  I have a 1-year-old Boxer named Boston.
