Tell us about your journey. Why advertising and technology?
Sometimes, the best things in life are not what we expect! In college, it was my dream to become a CTO for a company like Facebook or Google. From an early age, I’ve always been interested in technology - but it wasn't until I decided to pursue a degree in Informatics that I really discovered my passion for computing and its potential to solve many of the worlds’ biggest problems. So how did I get into advertising? Upon graduating, I jumped at a very exciting opportunity, doing product management for a company called Mediabank. Mediabank became something bigger - Mediaocean. Thanks to Mediaocean, and the division I work for (MBuy), I’ve been able to find a second passion alongside technology - and that's advertising.
For me, it's less about advertising and technology, and more about wanting to make a meaningful difference in the business world and leaving something behind that I can be proud of. The interoperation of advertising and technology not only presents this opportunity, but it does so in a way that I never would have imagined.
In what ways has working at MBuy challenged you and enabled you to grow?
In many ways, I'm the best version of myself because of MBuy and the opportunities it has given me. As with any industry, balancing the needs of the business, clients, and technology can get very complex. Working at MBuy has allowed me to gain experience and confidence across all parts of the business, including product management, account management, customer support, development, and marketing strategy & analytics. MBuy encourages each of its employees to be a leader, and provides learning opportunities difficult to get elsewhere. In an industry that’s changing daily and offers a never-ending ecosystem of competitors, the work couldn’t be more challenging and growth happens daily here.
What do you enjoy most about working at MBuy?
The work we do and the people I work with. I'm very fortunate to not only believe in what I do, but also who I work with. Also, having an executive team that embraces new ideas and personally responds to your emails saying, "Tell me more" is very motivating.
Coffee or tea?
Just tea… And Red Bull… and Monster. I haven’t slept in weeks, come to think of it. Client campaigns are doing great, though!
